Dense housing would make Montclair like a city
(by WALTER K. RIORDAN - October 30, 2008)
In the article in the Oct. 2 edition of The Montclair Times, "Making the case for dense housing," two of the proponents are affiliated with the City of Newark, not the Township of Montclair.
So far as safety and policing problems are concerned, does Montclair want to become another Newark, New Jersey?
I don’t think so.
Along with accessory dwelling units, dense housing would change the very nature of the township by giving variances (changing the laws) which would lead to Montclair becoming a city, not remaining a suburb.
