Every vote counts, especially your own
(by BETSY VINCENT - October 23, 2008)
As a teenager who can’t vote, but whose life will be extraordinarily affected by whomever America chooses as the next president of our country, I find it necessary to comment on the extreme importance of getting out to vote on Nov. 4.
Life is scary for many of us in Montclair, of all races, economic situations, religious affiliations, gender, etc.
The difference between whom we choose for our next president, Barack Obama or John McCain, may be catastrophic. Two candidates with incredibly different political values and tactics are up for election, and as Americans, we must make the choice that is best for the general population. Whomever you may personally think that person is, I would like to ask all people ages 18 and older to please, for me, for my fellow teenagers, for your and your family’s general well-being, and for your country, to find time to vote on Nov. 4, 2008.
Every vote counts, especially your own.
