Mountainside Hospital names chief executive officer
Mountainside Hospital has announced that John Fromhold has been named chief executive officer of the hospital, effective immediately, replacing Barry Dykes, who led the hospital since 2007.
Fromhold is a 24-year veteran of hospital administration.
As chief operating officer of Merit Health Systems, which purchased Mountainside Hospital in 2007, Fromhold has worked closely with Mountainside since serving as the interim chief executive of the hospital in early 2007.
Fromhold will continue to serve Merit Health Systems as COO in addition to his CEO duties at Mountainside.
“John is the ideal candidate to continue leading Mountainside Hospital to be one of the area’s best in patient care, depth of medical expertise and advanced medical technology,” stated Tyree G. Wilburn, chairman and chief executive of Merit Health Systems. “Barry Dykes has helped lead Mountainside to the strong position it is in today, and John will build significantly from that.”
Mountainside Hospital is an 820,000-square-foot full-service hospital in Montclair and Glen Ridge that has served New Jersey residents since 1891. As part of the Merit Health Systems network, Mountainside Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations
