Maureen S. Angevine


Maureen S. Angevine, 54, of Philadelphia, formerly of Montclair, died on Saturday, Sept. 27, of complications from a brain tumor and stroke.

A memorial Mass will be held on Monday, Oct. 6, at 1:30 p.m., in Old St. Joseph’s Church, 321 Willings Aly, Philadelphia.

Originally from North Caldwell, she graduated from Mount St. Dominic’s Academy, Lafayette College and received a master’s degree in American studies from Seton Hall University. She worked in corporate contributions at the former Chemical Bank in New York City and as a docent at the Newark Museum.

Mrs. Angevine was an avid reader and gardener. She was a member of several Philadelphia arts institutions including the Art Museum, the Franklin Institute, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. She and her husband were also active fundraisers for the Wistar Institute, an NCI designated cancer center and independent basic medical science research institute in Philadelphia.

Mrs. Angevine was predeceased by her youngest brother who died of ALS in April 2008. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Robert Angevine; her daughter, Rebecca Spence; and sons, Peter and Colin Angevine; her parents, Margaret and John Sundman of Oldwick; two sisters, three brothers, and 18 nieces and nephews.
